Home Again, Home Again

Well, I've been home almost a week now! It's really hard to believe! I came home to a room full of boxes and have dwindled the boxes down so you can see my bed when you go in.

I was going to try to sum up Masterworks, but there's no real way to do that. I mean to fill you in on everything, I would have to do a minute by minute account. The Lord worked so mightily there among our amazing group that literally things were new everyday! I have definitely come home a different person than I left.

I guess I could say that I learned two things at Masterworks: God does not want me to live a life of fear, and on-camera acting feels more natural than stage.

That first Sunday we were there, God used the worship time to really convict me of living with a spirit of fear. Fear of what others thought, fear of using my gifts for Him, really what amounted to fear of everything. After showing me this, He then led me to the wonderful arms of the theatre group to help heal and grow me. Wow, what an experience to allow God to work in your life with no help from you. That theatre group has become some of the most important people in my life. When you've gone through something like that with a group of people, you are bonded forever I think.

Also, we were able throughout the month, but specifically the last full day, to work with a casting director from Hollywood. Bev Holloway was/is amazing! She took us through what it would be like to audition for her. She had a camera set up and really worked with us in being in front of a camera. Most of the theatre people were just that, theatre people. We were used to the stage and big movements and projection. All of which are not always necessary for the camera. I have to say working in front of the camera felt so natural and exciting! I was amazed.

Now those were, by no means, the only two things I learned, but they are the ones that changed my life the most. Some of the other fun things were: seeing friends again, some of whom I hadn't seen for 5 years!, getting to know so many others who are interested in the same things I am, meeting people who are influential in Hollywood, being cared for and helped by those same people, and I'm serious the list could go on and on with stories upon stories for each.

God was so gracious and kind and faithful during this last month! Praise God from whom all blessings flow!
